How We Work

The Alborz Board of Trustees is a governing body composed of distinguished individuals from a variety of backgrounds. The Board of Trustees has fiduciary responsibility for the Institution’s leadership, integrity, financial health, and scholarly independence. As a nonprofit organization Alborz is devoted toindependent, in-depth research that leads to pragmatic and innovative ideas on how to transform a theocratic dictatorship into a secular and liberal democratic political system, peacefully, and solve the socioeconomic problems facing the Iranian society. Alborz commitment to institutional independence is rooted in the individual independence of its founders and scholars. The Institution will offer the best solutions for the challenges facing the Iranian society. Alborz recognizes that in order to produce high-qualityresearch that proposes innovative, practical policy recommendations, we need to ensure that ourpersonnel represent a diversity of thought, experience and background. Such diversity within the workforce enhances the relevance and substance of our work, and also helps us adhere more closely to our guiding principles of quality, independence and impact.

Media

Alborz scholars will endeavor to participate in television, radio, and online interviews in Iran, in the United States, the United Kingdom, European Union and internationally to increase awareness of the value that their independent, pragmatic and nonpartisan perspectives bring to policy issues in Iran.

Research

Research by Alborz Institution scholars will be published in books, academic journals, and Alborz’s own policy studies and periodicals, including (Freedom Journal). With sales and distributions of print editions in the tens of thousands, these publications will be visited online millions of times annually. The research agenda and recommendations of Alborz’s experts are rooted in open-minded inquiry and our scholars represent diverse points of view. Research topics cover foreign policy, economics, development, governance and metropolitan policy in Iran

Publication

Alborz scholars will play a key role in educating leaders, decision makers, and the public through sharply crafted and insightful op‐eds to be regularly published and reprinted in newspapers and online news sites across the United States, the United Kingdom, European Union and around the world.

Student Programs

Alborz’s highly selective Internship program will draw applicants each year for the more than 100 available positions. Also, through a wide array of programs and resources that inform, educate, and activate, Alborz will continually work to attract and energize liberty‐minded young Iranians.

Events

Alborz will offer a wide array of events throughout the year—full day conferences, books and policy forums, film screenings, online programs, and more, where attendees hear from leading authorities, members of the US Congress, the UK Parliament, The EU parliament, authors, scholars, and policy leaders and engage each other in discussion. The aim is that hundreds of thousands of visitors and participants will engage with these programs annually and support a political change in Iran.
